I am one of 117 female-identifying photographers commissioned to photograph for Project #ShowUs, the world's largest stock photo collection created by Dove and Getty Images.

Currently, 70% of women report that they don't feel represented by media and advertising. The project's goal is to change the media and advertising landscape with a more inclusive vision of beauty.

I photographed Mehnaz from Toronto in the first iteration of the project, and in the following iteration photographed Laurie from Haida Gwaii and Maureen from Calgary. Mehnaz is a scientific research student who wants to see more diverse representations of Muslim women and women in STEM, Laurie is an artist who wants to show the resilience of Indigenous women, and Maureen wants to show that a woman in her 70's can be beautiful, confident, and stylish.
